4 Things To Do On A Rainy day in Málaga

We are used to endless days of blue skies and sunshine here in Málaga so you may forgive us when, on the greyer, rainier days that hit us around this time of year, we find ourselves in a bit of a limbo. So, what is there to do in our beautiful region when it’s not sunny afternoon cañas weather?

  1. The Beach

I know, not the most obvious answer, but hear me out. There is nothing more invigorating on a windy day than heading down to the coast and watching the waves come crashing in. There are very few people and you will almost feel like you have the place to yourselves. Take a stroll along the promanade and then hide out in a chiringito to marvel at the wonders of mother nature.

2. The Museums

The city of Málaga is fast becoming one of the cultural centres of Spain and it’s vast variery of museums and tempory art exhibitions are difintely contributing to this. After all, one of the most famous artists in our history is a Malagueño (more info here). If you hop on to Málaga’s official culture website, you’ll find all you need to know about the latest expos, events and cultural activities.

3. Craft Beers

Did you know that the market for artesanal beers in Málaga is on the move? There is an increasing number of craft beer bars in the centre of the city to discover and Cerveza Artesana Alma even offers a tour of their factory followed by a beer tasting session. Cheers!

4. The Cinema

There are lots of place to go the movies in our region. La Trocha in Coín offers films in their original language on a Tuesday (check timetable here). Yelmo Cines in Plaza Mayor has a large selection of V.O.S.E screenings as does Cinesur in Mirarmar. If your Spanish is up to it, why not try seeing a national film and surprise your family and friends with your knowledge of Spanish cinema? Or, if you fancy watching something a little different, Cine Albéniz in the historic centre of Málaga has a wonderful selection of independant films.
