Monda is a pretty inland white village perched on the top of a hill on the edge of the Sierra de las Nieves National Park, yet just 15 minutes from Marbella’s beaches. If you are considering a laid-back lifestyle where time seems to stand still, where small children play safely, dominos are a serious business and coffees are sipped slowly, this is Monda.
It is a typical Spanish town of whitewashed terraced houses lined along narrow streets, yet you can still find wonderful Monda apartments for sale. Completely unspoiled, surrounded by olive groves, the demand for Monda property for sale is high amongst foreign investors, mainly Dutch, English, Swedish, German, who are tempted by the range of rustic property for sale and bewitched by the slow pace of life in this corner of Southern Spain.
It’s also fantastic environment for anyone who enjoys a healthy outdoor lifestyle, as you can go horse riding, trekking, bird watching, mountain biking, canyoning, kayaking and even paintballing!
Monda offers the opportunity to capitalise on the rental opportunities. For such a small town, it is surprising what Monda has to offer. The Marbella Design Academy, is located on the outskirts of the village and attracts large groups of students each year. There is everything you need including a hotel, bars, restaurants, supermarket, bakery, veterinary clinic, weekly fruit market and even a Churros truck every Sunday morning. Those who have a more serious shopping habit can hop in the car to Marbella’s shopping mall, La Cañada.
There is also a public swimming pool just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of town and of course the hiking, cycling and horse-riding trails within the beautiful Sierra de las Nieves.
History buffs and olive oil connoisseurs alike, will appreciate the old mill in the town centre, which still uses an enormous granite stone to press olives from the local groves.
Malaga city and the airport are just 30 minutes by car.
