Cartama is one of the larger of Malaga’s inland towns, located at the heart of the Guadalhorce Valley at the head of the Guadalhorce River. Being only 17kms from Malaga city centre, it’s perfectly positioned as a commuter town, holiday and tourist destination, and also offers some of the best value property for sale in Andalucia.
It is a fantastic destination for outdoor pursuits, offering clean air and plenty of hiking, cycling and riding routes. However, it isn’t all about tranquility and relaxation, Cartama can be quite a party town, with numerous hotels, restaurants and bars, found both the old town (Cartama Pueblo) and the Estación de Cartama. There’s plenty of shopping opportunities in the pueblo and the Estación area of the town for every day goods, but if you feel a spending spree coming on or fancy a day on the beach, within 20 minutes you can reach Malaga’s main shopping centre and many of the fantastic beaches on the Costa del Sol.
