The Area

Los Arqueros is situated in the province of Malaga, and stands in the centre of the Costa del Sol region of Spain, only a few kilometres from the popular resort of Marbella.

The administrative centre of the province is the historic city of Malaga, with modern hotel, shopping and entertainment facilities. It is within easy reach of Los Arqueros, being about 1 hours drive away. Malagas large international airport provides good communication with overseas destinations.

The region of Costa del Sol, stretching along more than a hundred kilometres of the Spanish coastline, from Almeria in the east, almost to Gibraltar in the west, has in recent years become a popular destination for tourists and holiday-makers. Bathed by the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, it is famous for its beautiful extensive beaches, unrivalled coastal scenery, and above all its glorious climate.

Marbella, located centrally in the Costa del Sol, has grown in a few decades from a small white-washed fishing village of a few hundred inhabitants to the beautiful city which it is today. It is popular with holiday makers, and has gained a reputation as a glamorous playground for the rich and famous.

Other holiday destinations, popular for their sandy beaches and within easy reach, are Torremolinos, Fuengirola and Estepona. These resorts offer a variety of sporting and leisure activities.

Towering mountain ranges form a backdrop to the seaside watering places, and a 2 hour inland drive to the city of Ronda, at an altitude of 750 m (c 2,500 ft) above sea level, offers the traveller a stunning vista of mountain scenery in spectacular contrast to the coastal resorts.
